Teaching Philosophy

I have been teaching at the university level since the early 2000s, and I still find it one of the more rewarding parts of academic life — when it's going well. My approach is built around a simple conviction: students learn best when they are genuinely puzzled by something. A good course should leave students with better questions, not just better answers.

Since 2022, I have served as Head of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching at Western Galilee College — a role that reflects a long-standing interest in what actually happens in classrooms, and how to improve it. I believe that careful attention to teaching and rigorous research reinforce each other rather than compete.
